Sunday Soundtrack – October 4

31 Days to a More Abundant Life

Sunday Soundtrack #write31

Hymns to Bless You

Chris Rice – Peace Like a River: The Hymns Project   Sundays are for worship and renewal. I love singing hymns at church. This CD is my absolute favorite collection. I can’t pick a favorite song. I love them all. I guess the contenders would be “It is Well With My Soul,” “A Mighty Fortress is Our God,” “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” “Before the Throne of God Above.”

I love these hymns all the time, but they are especially good for me when my heart is grieving or I feel weary.

Music to Bring You Peace

This week we are focusing on being peacemakers, but we cannot make peace with others unless we have peace with Him.

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith,
we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Romans 5:1, NLT

Having peace with God means we can have peace with our circumstances too.  Living in such a broken world…there is comfort in the knowledge that He is always working to redeem, renew, restore. I love these songs—they talk about how God brings good from bad.

  1. This is Amazing Grace (Phil Wickham)
  2. Blessings (Laura Story)
  3. Sometimes He Calms the Storm (Scott Krippayne)
  4. Untitled Hymn (Chris Rice)
  5. Beauty for Ashes (Shane and Shane)

If you have Spotify, you can follow me and my growing playlist called A #MoreAbundantLife. I’ll be adding to it each week. Or you can listen to it right here. If you don’t see the window with the list below, try refreshing your browser.

I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I do. 🙂 Please, let me know what songs YOU would put on a peace-making playlist.

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️
