Storm Warnings

From the Pages of My Journal

Today I experienced a first.  My husband checked the weather before going to work and said we had a storm warning - a dust storm warning.  When I checked the weather an hour later, this amazing footage is what I found.  And  I love the article below the video; here's a bit of it: Arizona's monsoon ...

Blessings and Curses

From the Pages of My Journal

In my last post I shared about a revelation I had last week: each of us, we are to be a gift from God to those around us; He has an express purpose for us in their lives.  I have been convicted by this.  I realized that I have thought of others in a relatively egocentric way - how they are impacting ...

Receiving Gifts…

From the Pages of My Journal

Before we even learned where we would be moving, we began praying about the place, our home and neighborhood‘¦and the people, the church, the homeschool friends, hubby's boss, neighbors‘¦ A little at a time, God replied to our concerns.  Like a checklist, one by one our questions had answers. ...

What is it?

From the Pages of My Journal

We are now mostly settled in the new home.  We are starting to recognize landmarks when we drive and have been to some places more than once...this is quite a bit of progress!  I grew up as a Marine Corps officer's daughter, now I am an Air Force officer's wife.  Yet, though I have done this ...

At Home with the Lord…

From the Pages of My Journal

We are just getting settled in our new home.  Tonight will be our fifth night of  sleeping on blow-up beds.  Add to that 3 days and 2 nights on the road.  Tomorrow the movers will come and bring furniture and lots, and lots, and lots of brown boxes. We have been extrememly blessed with a ...

What’s Old is New Again

From the Pages of My Journal

Yesterday was that last "normal" day for us in our sweet little Gulf Coast town.  Today the packers are here, boxing up so much of our life.  How appropriate that we ended our time here on a Sunday - the LORD's Day. For the last year we have been living in a modern Mayberry RFD - didn't you just ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
