Wholeness: A Change of Season

Wholeness

Winter in the Deep South is usually snow-less.  We are often wearing shorts at Thanksgiving dinner and dreaming of a Cold Christmas, since we know odds are against a White Christmas.  This year, it was uncharacteristically warm, even for the Gulf Coast.  The warm winter merged into an early spring ...

Acceptable Offering: Gluttony and Greed

Acceptable Offering

When my Sweet Girl was four, she snuck into the pantry to get after the Easter candy.  She crept into the privacy of the bathroom and dove into the contraband.  Her father sensed something was amiss and asked through the door what she was doing.  "MMmmm, nothing", but upon further inspection, the ...

Embracing Your Strengths: Week 11

Embracing Your Strengths

Red Beans and Rice is a New Orleans tradition. This recipe goes back to when women used to wash all their laundry by hand. Mondays were wash day and so homemakers had to cook something low maintenance while they were washing. I still love to put a pot of beans on and only have to stir occasionally. ...

Embracing Your Strengths

But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good.  It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself. There is no law against things of that kind. Gal 5:22-23 One of my favorite verses...today's post really follows Monday's post well! ...

We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️ We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️
When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
