Wholeness: The Waiting is the Hardest Part…

Wholeness

If you are a planner, there is nothing so stressful as not being able to make, or implement, your plan.  I am a planner and a list maker.  I like to plot things out in chronological order, with all the details I can imagine penciled in.  I like to color code my plans with sticky notes or on the ...

Acceptable Offering: Pride (Part 2)

Acceptable Offering

We are in our second week of Lent - the season of preparation before celebrating Easter, the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  To some, Lent is the season for "giving things up".  I know people who have given up chocolate, alcohol, meat, FaceBook...I think this is a very personal ...

Embracing Your Strengths: Chapter 7

Embracing Your Strengths

For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. Ps 103:14 We are reading A Little Princess (Amazon link) in homeschool this week. I love little Sara Crewe!  She rivals Miss Elizabeth Bennet of Pride and Prejudice (Amazon link) for my all time favorite (or favourite) heroine.  As ...

Proverbs 31 Living: Monthly Menu Planning

Proverbs 31

"A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies... She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.  She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her [family]. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." ...

HERstory: Do They Have Sweet Tea in Africa?

HERstory

This is the HERstory of an incredible young lady.  When I was her age, I was a prodigal daughter to my Heavenly Father...I am thankful that God is compassionate and merciful and will use the choices we make (good and bad) to build us up into the people He planned for us to be.  Hallie's choices are ...

Embracing Your Strengths: Chapter 6

Embracing Your Strengths

The chapter for this week is called Unwanted Strength.  Are you stuck hosting everything just because you are able to pull together a fabulous meal and tablescape (I think of HGTV's Sandra Lee here) in less than 30 minutes?  Are you dragged into leadership at church because people naturally look to ...

We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️ We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️
When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
