Proverbs 31: The Blessing of Creativity

Proverbs 31

So, January is National Hobby Month!  There was a time when all I did was work...I had no time for hobbies.  What a sad, boring life!  Now I blog here, study the bible, make jewelry (mostly I bead), love to cook and bake, try to make time for reading, and sew a little.  My Momma makes beautiful ...

Proverbs 31: Sewing a Pillowcase for Your BFF

Proverbs 31

This past summer, we moved from our home of five years.  We also moved away from my Sweet Girl's very best friend, ever.  Emma and her family were a special part of our introduction to homeschooling and our families got along so well...we all just "clicked", parents with parents and kids with kids. ...

Book Club is Here – With Links that Work!

Book Club!

Funny...I was an English major in college (that was before I became a dental hygienist).  I loved reading and analyzing literature.  But that was like twenty years (and two kids) ago!  I have some friends who kept reading voraciously, all through the pre-baby/working years, and the baby and ...

Wholeness…He’s not finished with me yet

Wholeness

When I was young, I thought myself to be an extravert.  I had learned to be outgoing because, being a Marine kid, we moved around a lot.  I was always able to settle in fairly quickly and make friends.  I was a people pleaser and wanted everyone to like me.  I can remember always having a pack of ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
