31 Days to #ASimplerJoy: Shop Your Own Stuff

A Simpler Joy

Not long ago I decided that I needed to reorganize the decorating stuff.  I love ushering in the new seasons with little changes around the house.  When my Gracie girl was little, she begged me to buy seasonal decorations more than once, but money was very tight.  She wanted us to change our home ...

31 Days to #ASimplerJoy

Yesterday, I shared that I like having pretty things better than I like making them.  :P I am the person who gets an idea in her head and wants to do it.  I know there is a right way to do things and a wrong way...but sometimes there is also a shorter way.  So here are some of my shortcuts: Balloon ...

Not everyone wants to find shortcuts.  I think it often depends on whether you are a Process Person or a Product Person in terms of ...

31 Days to #ASimplerJoy

True Confession: This is NOT what my refrigerator looks like. I can say that my fridge is looking pretty good today; it has had a bit of a makeover lately.  But there was a week there when that fridge was a burden that weighed on me every time I opened it  I might as well have been carrying it ...

31 Days to #ASimplerJoy

By nature, I am a terrible procrastinator.  In the past, I have tended to overcompensate for this by being ultra rigid in my schedule.  When I started homeschooling I learned that I had to be much more flexible...but I didn't really know what it meant to be flexible, so I started saying "yes" to ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
