How Does Your Joy Measure Up?

Summer of Joy

Joie de vivre: It means the Joy of Life ~ a zest for living...living with gusto.  It is the opposite of a punch in the gut.  The opposite of rain on your parade.  It is the opposite of  a pinchy shoe with a blister and a limp to match.  There are days, sisters, when you may wonder why you got out ...

Are You Abiding in the Harvest?

Summer of Joy

My kids and my husband call me "the brown thumb".  My sister got all the green thumb genes from BOTH of my gardening parents.  I am the kind of plant mother that doesn't have to worry about repotting plants as they grow...just about getting new ones, the same size as the old ones, when they die.  I ...

Pride is the Gateway (Part 3)

Acceptable Offering

We have been looking at Pride (Part 1 and Part 2) as the gateway to other sins.  Sin is what separates us from God. And Pride is idolatry of Self.  When our minds, words, and lives are consumed with Self, we are not able to love God as He ought to be loved.  We cannot love others either when we ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
