Be Here…

Finding Rest...in Him

Living in the present is like anything else...it gets easier with practice.  It is living in the "I am", not the "I will be" or the "I was".  This is communion with the Great I Am.  He is, at all times, present.  He is living in every moment.  He is active in the here and now.  He is active in the ...

Finding Rest...in Him

123rf.com #4614558 Here at the end of summer, and at the beginning of a new school year, I have been finding myself (and many of my friends) in need of rest.  Seems that the summer used to be thought of as the restful time, as "vacation",  but nowadays it is just more busyness.  So, for the month ...

The Present

From the Pages of My Journal

123rf.com #20054979 The past is history, the future is a mystery, today is a gift.  That is why it is called The Present. I don't know who first said this quote, but I do remember hearing it in the movie Kung Fu Panda (amazon.com link).  It came to  mind, and I jotted it down, when I read another ...

A Hope that Does Not Disappoint

From the Pages of My Journal

123rf.com photo:17931165 Sunday in church we sang a song that recounted the story of Mary Magdalene’s finding the empty tomb. We have sung this song before, but somehow that day I saw the whole scene, in my mind’s eye. And it has stayed with me. I thought about how it must have felt for Mary ...

A Quiet Life…

From the Pages of My Journal

God wants for us to be life-long learners.  We must be looking and listening to know what He is teaching us.  He has been pretty clear with me lately, which is wonderful, but also humbling!  He may be teaching you something very different and I would love to hear you share about your own journey. ...

We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️ We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️
When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
