Family Wisdom. Proverbs 3:27

Family Wisdom

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it (Proverbs 3:27). Our church has been reading in Isaiah and Jeremiah recently.  I have been struck that the LORD is personally offended when those in power work to oppress others: "Wash yourselves; make yourselves ...

Memory Verse Monday

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever (Ps 136:1). Hesed.  A few months ago our pastor preached about God's Hesed.  I know, I know.  I keep telling you about great things I have learned from our pastor but...he is pretty awesome.  But, seriously, my favorite ...

The Power of Choice.

The Family Workshop

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm (Prov 13:20). When Grace was in preschool, PreK 4 to be exact, she was a real tomboy.  She liked to play Batgirl to anyone else's Batman.  She wanted to be David, when playing David and Goliath.  So you can see ...

Family Wisdom. Prov 3:24

Family Wisdom

If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet (Prov 3:24). The real beginning of this verse is in Proverbs 3:21, which we looked at last week. My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion... (Proverbs ...

Family Workshop: Forming Connections

The Family Workshop

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
