Muscle Memory

The Family Workshop

So my sweet boy has been struggling with guitar lately.  He is 8.  Has been taking guitar for about 2 years or so.  He. Has. Hit. A. Wall.  Or maybe it is more accurate to say that he has built a wall and run, smack, into it.  Too bad...I know how easy it is it is to build a wall like that, brick by ...

Where’s the Beef?

The Family Workshop

Truth comes at you like the peeling of an onion.  It pulls apart to reveal more and more layers.  My peace with God has come the same way, over time.  My experience has been in agreement with the Word: (1) He is all-powerful, and (2) He is good.  For in these things I delight, declares the ...

Who’s the Boss?

The Family Workshop

So I know that this post isn't Valentine's Day material...but maybe in a way it is?  Because every relationship we have is governed by the LORD.  I am one of those people who cannot help but say what is on my heart, and this is it today. Maybe YOU don't struggle with this problem as a woman, but ...

The Purpose of The Family Workshop

The Family Workshop

So it has been hard to keep it all focused and moving ahead, this unwieldy teaching that is in my heart, this life of lessons the LORD has given to me that has made sense of the things that didn't make sense to me before...so I hope to be moving forward and building this teaching into something that ...

So we've already dealt with the concept of our Primary Purpose in the last post.  This idea is really key to Building Your House Upon the Word.  Our society is me-centered and all of the messages we get from modern culture are geared toward elevating the individual.  The idea that our purpose and ...

The Family Workshop: Our Primary Purpose

The Family Workshop

This week, we heard tell of a suicide attempt by a young man from a family that we know.  Thankfully it was unsuccessful.  Still what remains is bitter heartbreak for him and those who love him!  I hung up the phone and my kiddos, having overheard my part of the conversation, wanted to know what was ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
