In lieu of choosing another study to do as a group, I am taking little time off to ponder and pray about what God is doing with Girls Growing with God.  In my personal devotional I am reading the book of John.  I thought it would be nice to share some of the things I am writing on my own journal, so I will be doing that for the next several weeks.

During my devotional time, I read the chapter and then I highlight the passages that jump out at me.  I listen to hear if God is speaking to me through His Word.  Sometimes the scriptures lead me to draw conclusions about my own life, sometimes my prayers are based on the reading, sometimes I am led to a different scripture or several other scriptures, and sometimes I am simply brought to tears.  I type my thoughts and paste scriptures into an electronic journal with the date.  I have loved this!  It makes journaling so much easier than paper and pen.  I have used my Microsoft Word for Mac with a notebook template for my journal.  I have done this for several months now.  At this point, I have the equivalent of reams of paper but it is in descending order.  I have to scroll down forever to get to the place where I can write my new entry.  I have tried reversing the order but it doesn’t recognize all the words properly so I have a jumble of entries that way.  I could start another tab and maybe organize by date in that way.  I am considering changing to journal software for Mac but then I am starting all over again!
