Here is today’s verse:
By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it. She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son. Greet one another with the kiss of love (1 Peter 5:12-14).

Well, it is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of this great Bible study. I have really loved reading Elizabeth George’s writing ‘“ she has a soothing and encouraging way of saying hard things. We have talked a lot about suffering in this study, but always with the reminder that suffering is purposeful, peace is available in troubled times, and that we must keep an eternal perspective. Good lessons all! This video is a first! Apparently, I am taking my show on the road. As I write this, I am at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, waiting for my flight to the Declare Conference in Dallas. I am bathed in sunlight from the window behind me and I am also awash in the knowledge of the Lord’s love for me. My heart is full of gratitude for my family who is supporting my pursuit of writing and blogging and for my friends who continue to encourage me when I wonder…what am I doing getting on a plane and leaving my family??
This lesson is special to me because Elizabeth George points out how Peter was writing to people he had never met. His hope? To encourage Christians and remind them of all that they have in Christ. Wow – I, and all the bloggers at the conference I am attending, hope to do the same thing, just over 2000 years later. The Gospel is timeless!
Next week – last chapter of this study! Until then…have a wonderful weekend!!
