It seems best for us to opt to interrupt our Journey to Joy temporarily. The Lord put some people on my heart last week and yesterday. So I reached out to them and invited them to study this book with us. I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be…it seemed to be a bad idea, a little too late. Some of these dear friends I haven’t talked with in quite some time and I did not expect them to join us. But I have a a response that encourages me that it is best that we should tarry…“For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay (Hab 2:3).
I don’t know the future of this website. At times I have been discouraged by difficulties and loneliness. I have wondered how long I would continue. I just know that the Lord has give me a vision for reaching women with His Word, for staying in touch with old friends and making new ones, and for providing forum where God can work through each of us to knit our hearts together. I don’t know what it will look like in the end or when we will “get there”. I just know that, though it tarries, I will wait for it, for it will certainly come. I hope you will be a part of the journey and invite your friends and loved ones to join us!
Housekeeping note: Please begin the devotional Reclaiming Your Joy, (or revisit what you have already done and pray for new wisdom), on October 31. You can order it as an ebook. It comes instantly to your phone or computer or Kindle as a PDF and then all you need is your Bible and handy-dandy a notebook (yes – that’s an homage to Blues Clues – I am a mom after all!). We will work through the holidays, the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas. Initially I had planned these to be “off” weeks…but thinking about how the Lord has led us to modify the schedule, I realize that those busy times are when we need to stay close to the Lord and continue to meet with Him daily. The devotional only takes about 15 minutes. I would suggest doing it first thing in the morning, M-F, or last thing at night, Sun-Thu. I will post, as usual, Tuesdays and Fridays and, likely, more often. On Tuesdays, I will write a devotional based on another book, Heartstrings: Finding A Song When You’ve Lost Your Joy. Please, please participate in the conversation and share this website with your friends and family.. I know this is meant to be a community of believers. Please, please register for the website so that you can submit comments and please, please subscribe to the emails so you can keep up more easily – visit the left sidebar on the Welcome! page to do both. Please, if you are a Facebooker, visit our page there a “like” us and have your friends “like” us – still trying to get on the Twitter bandwagon but feeling too old – did I miss this boat? Tell me if you Twitter 🙂
