Wholeness: Children’s Dental Health Month

Wholeness

So I may have mentioned a time or two that I am a former dental hygienist and that my husband is a dentist.  In the interest of full disclosure, I will admit that we are in a battle for the health of my Sweet Boy's teeth...he is a super stinky brusher!!!  It is to the great consternation of us both, ...

Sons of Encouragement: The Priest

Book Club!

God really likes to turn things upside down!  How many unlikely heroes fill the pages of His Word?  Francine Rivers' account of Aaron's story reminds us that God calls ordinary people to do great things.  Moses, who wasn't enough of an Egyptian to stay in the Palace; nor enough of a Hebrew to be ...

Embracing Your Strengths: Chapter 5

Embracing Your Strengths

Prov 31: Enduring Love

Proverbs 31

Valentine's Day: a joyous occasion for some - a dreaded day of disappointment for others.  When you are single, Valentine's Day can be like salt in the wound, punctuating your alone-ness; so that you look forward to the day that you are married and always "have someone" on Valentine's Day.  But ...

Acceptable Offering: Pride (Part 1)

Acceptable Offering

What is an Acceptable Offering to the Lord?  As I have mentioned before, we often think of giving God our very best, and of course this thought has a strong biblical foundation.  But I am convinced that God also wants us to willingly relinquish to Him our very worst.  Those things we hold to like a ...

Embracing Your Strengths: Chapter 4

Embracing Your Strengths

Source: kunzdesign.com via Britta on Pinterest   I really enjoyed this week's chapter: Domestic Strength.  The author starts with "a woman's home is one of her sacred spaces" which really resonates with me.  How about you?  Is your home your sacred space...maybe the way it looks ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
