Journey to Joy: Week 1 Day 3

Journey to Joy

Well, I am not sure I will be able to do this everyday - my original plan was to post twice weekly, not daily.  But so long as God gives me something to share, I will. Today, I just did not want to get out of bed...my heart was heavy for a few reasons, and I just wanted to pull the covers over my ...

Journey to Joy/Heartstrings: Striving vs. Resting

Heartstrings· Journey to Joy

It is interesting how today's reading in Reclaiming Your Joy dovetails with Chapter 1 in Heart Strings: Finding a Song When You've Lost Your Joy.  As a reminder, this book, Heart Strings  is just a little something I wanted to share with you to enrich our time in the devotional, but I would not ...

Journey to Joy: Week 1 Day 1

Journey to Joy

So today we begin!  Or begin again, for those of you who have rebooted with me :)  I just wanted to send out a quick reminder that we are starting the daily devotional today.  As I have said before, it only takes 15 minutes or so.  So you need at least 15 minutes, your bible, a notebook and the ...

Speak Up! Be Quiet!

Lagniappe

Funny how we just can't wait till our kids can talk...when they are babies we strain to hear that magic word, "Ma-Ma", and usually get "Da-Da" instead.  Ironic really, when you consider the morning sickness, the 40 weeks, the labor, the sleepless nights - God keeps us humble that's for sure.  But ...

A Cord of Three Strands…

Lagniappe

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might ...

Clean House!

Bible Study

Since we are postponing our Journey to Joy, temporarily, I wanted to share with you something that happened yesterday that really inspired me.  I was already thinking about Jesus being the Vine and the branches from yesterday's post and God worked through my children to teach me more about how ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
