Are You Telling a Grace Story?

The Very Truth

"What's your story?" On Sunday, our pastor talked about how we have Grace Stories to tell.  What would you tell someone who asked, "What is your story?" Simple question. I think our pastor has asked me this question before. But I've just realized that—as much as I love happy endings—often I ...

Yikes! The Holidays Are Around the Corner!!

A Simpler Joy

My girl and I went to Michael's yesterday to get some little frames. But right there, in the front, on an endcap (alongside the fall leaf cookie cutters), we found this darling pie plate: Apparently Thanksgiving is around the corner. And as of today there are 125 days till Christmas! Last ...

Connecting in Small, Meaningful Ways

Inseparable

I have been busy this year. Busy with lots of writing and, at times, busy with lots of people. And then there has been no writing and no people. What I have felt on both ends of the extreme is disconnected. Somewhere, in the middle is the sweet spot. I just thought about this: the last twelve ...

Simply Tuesday: Small Moment Living

A Simpler Joy

"What gives moments meaning is not the moments themselves but the presence of Christ with us in the midst of them." —Simply Tuesday, p. 47 I've just read such a lovely book. Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World came along at just the right time for me because God has been ...

My One Word, Going into Fall

JOY!· One Word

Sometimes a word really sticks with you. In July, I went to a pre-Declare Conference workshop and listened to two blogging gurus, Holly Homer and Amy Lynn Andrews. Umm, here's where my dear, sweet friend Kathy and I *might* have been a little starstruck: Holly and Amy Lynn spoke ...

The Best Ways to Be Sweet on Social Media

My Neighbor

So often people talk about all the vitriol slung on social media—when it'd be better not to make a peep, much less send a tweet. Sometimes FaceBook is a battle ground where un-friendship is the guiding principle. So far, I have stayed out of these kinds of sticky situations. Mostly. In my early ...

We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️ We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️
When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
