Teach Us to Remember…

The Family Workshop

Ezekiel is my new favorite book.  As I have mentioned, maybe a bajillion times (sorry for that), we are reading through the Bible in a year as a church.  And I am reading through the Bible more carefully than I have before, because I am reading everything aloud to the kiddos.  We look at the ...

Family Wisdom. Proverbs 4:1-7

Family Wisdom

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight (Prov. 4:7).  Best quote on wisdom this year: ”Wisdom is the road of faith, lived out rightly.  It is applying God’s Word in God’s world.”  - Josh Hahne, Pastor, King of Kings PCA. Proverbs is "Wisdom Literature" in ...

Memory Verse Monday: August 4

Memory Verse Monday

Walking into the Fire

From the Pages of My Journal

...Walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph 4:1-3, ESV). Sometimes other people can make our lives hard.  Sometimes ...

Feeding on the Word

From the Pages of My Journal

Sunday, as I waited in the airport for my flight home from the P31 conference, I got a text from my new friend Lisa Lewis.  She had a later flight and we met up to wait together for mine. Lisa, a Life Coach, and I share an interest in Hearing and Doing the Word, in practicing Shema.  While I was at ...

Inspired to Make Him Famous

From the Pages of My Journal

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit (John 12:24). This verse was in my devotional prayer book and I read it Thursday morning as I prepared for my first day at the Proverbs31 Ministries conference I ...

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
