Thankful…

From the Pages of My Journal

I am thinking today that I have a lot to be thankful for in this life.  Tonight, hubby went to a Continuing Education course (he's a dentist) and I had some time alone...with the kids.  I mean, is a homeschooling mom ever really alone?  Anyway, they are big now and, though sometimes I miss their ...

The Family Workshop

So my little man is doing much better in guitar!  He had some trouble with getting the rhythm and some of it stemmed from his strong will...I can't imagine where he got that...  So here is the answer to a mother's prayer: the guitar teacher, Mr. Anderson, took Josh's troubles to heart.  He really ...

Living Stones…

The Family Workshop

As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ...you are a chosen race, a ...

Bought with a Price…

The Family Workshop

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body (1 Cor 6:19-20). So as we explore hearing and doing, it occurs to me that my posts are coming together in a ...

Here Today and Gone Tomorrow?

The Family Workshop

Sojourners.  That's what we are. Sojourn: to reside temporarily. A temporary stay; a brief period of residence (free dictionary.com). We touched on this idea last time.  Lately, this idea of sojourning just stays with me...it echoes, it reverberates.  I may forget temporarily, but it comes back ...

To What End?

The Family Workshop

So we continue to move through this discussion of Purpose.  We have discussed our Individual Purpose: to reflect His Image.  Glorifying Him is to look like, think like, speak like...love like, forgive like, sacrifice like the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And do you remember when I shared ...

We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️ We are so thankful for this young man. ❤️
When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
