Inseparable: Lesson 5

Inseparable

Eph 1.4

I see a very different principle at work
in my bodily members,

and it is at war with my mind;
I have become a prisoner in this war
to the rule of sin in my body.

I am absolutely miserable!
Is there anyone who can free me from this body
where sin and death reign so supremely?
I am thankful to God for
the freedom that comes through
our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!

(Romans 7:23-25, VOICE)

In Christ…You Are:
—Free—
to be Holy

HOLY

If you are new to this study, Welcome! If you have missed anything (previous videos, challenges and printables), you can find them on the Come Study with Us, Inseparable page.

If you missed the announcement, we are planning a webinar/interview with author Ashley Linne on October 9. We want to schedule it at a time when you can tune in and participate, so please click here to vote on the best time for you! I hope to record it and post it for those who cannot attend.

The Three W’s

  • God’s WORD for the week. Click here for all the images from this post on one printable 🙂 because I like you! Look at the one below to remember part one of this week’s challenge:

I am holy

  • Ashley’s WRITING.

“In my own war with my flesh, it seems each battle is won or lost in a split-second decision”(p. 74)

“Whether we lean toward legalism or we lean toward licentiousness, we’ve forgotten who we are. We wallow in guilt, when we’ve been cleansed of all unrighteousness. Or we waste God’s grace, when we’ve been set free from sin. If we knew who we really are in Christ, out lives would look different than they do” (p.73).

“For me, I know I’m being refined when nothing seems to be going my way…later when I look back, I see how gracious God was in cutting away parts of myself that didn’t reflect His character” (p. 78).

Doesn’t she have a way with words?  This chapter really explains my heart. What do you think? Please do join the discussion (1) in the comments here on the blog or (2) on the FaceBook group page.

  • See God’s Word at WORK in your world (this week’s challenge):
  1. In one sense, you are already holy, because you are set apart for God, by the sacrifice of Jesus, and filled with the Holy Spirit. Today say, “I’ve been made holy, because He is holy.”
  2. In another sense, you are in the process of being made holy as the Spirit conforms you to the image of Christ. We read in Philippians 2:5-8 about the character and resolve of Jesus. Look up and print out the verses by clicking here. Keep in mind that Jesus’ humility was an important aspect of His character. If you are humbled this week, celebrate it, instead of grieving over it.

Meet me at the FaceBook page! Let’s connect with one another this week!!

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
