It’s The Amy and Britta Show!

Amy and Britta Show

In the spirit of Advent and new beginnings, today Amy and I are introducing a fun feature that we are SO excited about…drum roll, please! The Amy and Britta Show is something we are trying out for the month of December, during Advent. But if we like it, and YOU like it, we might keep it up into the new year. 🙂

Here is our first video! Yay!! We had such a blast. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. There are some technical issues that we are still working through, like we would like to do a split screen instead of that teensy box for Amy—her personality is waayyyy too big for that box!

If the video doesn’t appear, please refresh your browser. And if you are reading this in your email, you will need to click through to the website to view the video.

In our video, we talked about the connection between waiting and hope. I would love to hear from you in the comments today—do you see that connection? Between waiting and hoping? How is your first week of Advent going?

And, have you downloaded your Advent Guide? It is called Growing Hope: Celebrating Advent Traditions at Home.

Here is a sample of what you will get in my eBook—this is an activity to remind you about the theme of the week:

When you turn the lights on or off, in your house, remember that our homes should be beacons of light.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16, ESV).

—Growing Hope: Celebrating Advent Traditions at Home

Every week, there are three activities for YOU to help bring home the truths about Advent. The ideas I have given you are great for both the grownups and the kids in your house. See how God’s Word connects to your daily life!

P.S. In the video, I couldn’t remember the theme for next week 😛 So, here is your reward for reading this far. Next week’s theme is Prepare/Peace.

Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back.
