Prodigal Confessions:
10 Principles that Lead Us Back to the Father

God planted the Gospel Story deeply in our hearts. We want problems fixed. We look for the hero. We desire forgiveness and mended relationships. When we don’t experience this in movies, books, or real life, we tend to feel a lack of closure because it is in our spiritual DNA to crave reconciliation. Especially in real life, we don’t like loose ends.  When we study the Parable of the Prodigal Son, we see the Gospel Story—repentance and redemption…the path of peace.

We are born with a desire to live in reconciliation with God and with others. After all, we are made in His image: “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…So God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them’ ” (Genesis 1:26-27 ESV).

When we delve deeper into the Gospel Story, we see that God’s plan is to renew our minds, to transform the way we think and live.  His design is to redeem us AND our relationships.  Immerse yourself in the age-old truths that bring relief to our broken world.  The simple answers to living reconciled to God AND others are within your grasp.  Prodigal Confessions: 10 Principles That Lead Us Back to the Father unveils the “new normal” available to those who belong to the Family of God.

Learn how to open the eyes of your heart as you study God’s Word, implement biblical principles, and walk in newness of life. In this book, you will see that:

  • Reconciliation moves us from pain to purpose.
  • In a world of entitled people,
it’s only God’s Grace that we don’t really get what we deserve.
  • Learning to obey God is like learning to ride a bike.
  • Guilt without repentance stunts spiritual growth.
  • Our obedience…should not be dependent on other peoples’ behavior.
  • God works in a humbled heart.
  • God is a Great Recycler. Get up-cycled.
  • Learning things the hard way is still learning.

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️

Also, so grateful for the wonderful school where she spent the last four years—the perfect place to land after years of homeschooling on the move. “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps 100:5) #curatingthegood #graduated🎓 #wisebeyondheryears @graciethenerd @lafonte04 @westminsteroakmtn
