Hymns to Bless You
I ran across David Wesley on Youtube a couple of years ago and called the kids to come listen. We sat there for over 30 minutes just listening to his a cappella renditions of some of our favorite hymns. David isn’t much on Spotify, so I only have a Christmas hymn on the A#MoreAbundantLife playlist, but you can subscribe to his Youtube channel and watch how he makes music with his voice and the very occasional instrument.
Apparently, he is coming out out with a Christmas album this week!! His previous album is called Basement Praise. Here is a sample of what he can do in his basement, by himself (if you are reading this via email, you will need to visit my website to view the video, and if it doesn’t appear in the space below, please refresh your browser):
Music to Remind You —
Your Life is Worship
This week, our last in the 2015 #Write31Days series, we focus on being worshippers. A life of worship is synonymous with a #MoreAbundantLife. [tweetthis]A life of worship is synonymous with a #MoreAbundantLife![/tweetthis]
And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Col 3:17, ESV
Since we are God’s Dwelling Place, we take Him with us wherever we go [tweetthis]Since we are God’s Dwelling Place, we take Him with us wherever we go. [/tweetthis] and we can fellowship with Him all day long.
Worship comes from old English word, “worthscipe” meaning worth-ship or worthiness. God is worthy of our praise, our attention, our time, and our love. [tweetthis]God is worthy of our praise, our attention, our time, and our love.[/tweetthis] Here are some songs that remind us that we are, from the moment we rise to the moment we lay down to sleep again, worshippers of the Lord Most High:
- Lifesong (Casting Crown)
- Proof of Your Love (For King and Country)
- Creed (Third Day)
- We believe (Newsboys)
- My Story (Big Daddy Weave)
If you have Spotify, you can follow me and my playlist called A #MoreAbundantLife. This week we are closing it out—it will still be there—but I am not adding anything else to it. If you like, you can listen to it right here. If you don’t see the window with the list below, try refreshing your browser.
I have really enjoyed selecting these songs. Do you have a Spotify playlist??
