What We’re Reading Lately (WWRL)

WWRL

TRACY’S STACK

Today is the start of something new!  On Wednesdays, I want to encourage those of us who get a little bogged down with daily activities and don’t have much time for recreational reading.

Add Unread Book Guilt to Mother Guilt, Wife Guilt and Homemaker Guilt‘¦and, well, nothing good comes from guilt.  Let’s agree that whether you read a book or a paragraph this week, you can still find something meaningful!

KORTINEE LEIGH’S STACK

I have invited some friends to participate with me.  You’ll just love these girls, like I do.  Next week you will be able to hear from them about what they have been reading lately.  I would like you to join us too.  So whether you are up to date with your reading list, or in danger from your stack of falling books, here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Read something!  Even something short.
  2. Pick some words to share (or even just ONE word)
  3. Add your own words if you like, and not if you don’t.
  4. Post the name of the book, the quote, and your own words in the Comments.

Can you participate?  I think it will be great fun!

BRITTA’S STACK

Do YOU have a pile of books like this, just staring at you?  Mocking you?  If I am not careful, my Unread Book Guilt + my friends on Goodreads + piles of laundry to fold + dishes to wash + papers to be filed = too much unfinished business. It. Makes. Me. Cray. Cray.

Don’t get me wrong I love books! So this week, let’s begin to make nice with that snarky stack of books again. We can carve out a little time.  Let’s curl up on the couch and look for the words that matter to us.

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️
