Memory Verse Monday: February 3

Memory Verse Monday

John 13.34.35

Today, I  return to posting about our memory work.  I decided to concentrate on a list that we had created for our second Family Mission Statement, which I wrote about here and here.  I am starting with the topic LOVE, which we will hear a lot about this month.  I will be getting to that topic myself in our exploration of Integrity, in a few weeks, but not for Valentine’s Day in particular.  Rather, love is the outpouring of our Integrity, as we will see later.

This week, let’s try to keep in mind that everything we do, is for His Glory…that people would know that we are His disciples, if we have love for one another (John 13:35).  Remembering this can help when other emotions crowd our hearts anger, bitterness, rudeness, selfishness, pride.  The litmus test for our response to others would be: will my reaction to this person bring honor to the Lord OR does my attitude imitate God?  This is our high calling…

Will you plant this Word in your heart with me this week?

When the first day of school is also the day your When the first day of school is also the day your firstborn drives herself to college, it’s a lot. We moved her stuff into her dorm last week. Today she got up early to say goodbye to Dad (too early! Not pictured 😂), her brother, her doggo, her piano, and her momma. Before she left, she made blueberry scones to share with her little bro @sjoshlafont —they homeschool and relocated together, went to @westminsteroakmtn together, and have shared a love of music, Legos, superheroes (and villains), Transformers, and so much more. She played my favorite song. She even made banana bread to bring to her new roomie. @graciethenerd You are my little nut brown hare, and I love you to the moon and back. Auburn University is a better place because you are there! ❤️
